The Struggles of a girl in an Indian Society

Hello People!! So today’s blog is all about the struggles of a girl in an Indian society. The rate of violence against women in India is increasing day by day and is a burning issue in our country. I want this message to be spread to every Indian so kindly read it through the end.

India is a country where girls are considered to be an avatar of goddesses, a country where they are worshiped for whole 9 days two times a year, a country where girls are said to be Goddess Durga, Parwati, Saraswati and also a country where 24,923 rape cases are reported, 8,233 dowry death cases are reported and 55,000 girls are kidnapped. Irony? I don’t think so…

Being a girl in this society, we go through a lot of phases and situations that we wish we were never born in this country. Here, people are so superstitious that they would do anything to just go on with their beliefs. For instance, girls are said to be “sinful” and full of impurity during menstruation and are not allowed to enter places of worship and also not allowed to work. People also think that girls shouldn’t wear short clothes but actually, it is their wish whatever they want to wear. Showing skin is not a crime, rape is! Nobody has the right to tell her what to wear and what not to! Also right from our childhood, it is said that girls are inferior to boys and all the tasks that are considered to use more muscular power should be done by boys. In a previous age, girls were not even educated! We judge her by her clothes, her gender and this cycle of judging her never ends. “Haye aaj kal ki ladkiyan kitni bigadi huyi hai, chote chote kapde pehenti hai. Chii Chii! *tsk* *tsk* *tsk*”  Dear aunty, you have no power to tell her what to wear!

But a lot has changed till now, people are understanding slowly that we are not weaker, not inferior to anyone in this world in this so-called “male-dominating society”. We are and will be equal to the male gender in every field. The practices done by people of earlier times like ‘sati’ are abolished by we people only. People are changing their views slowly, and change can be seen in the past few years throughout India. But India has to develop a lot, it has to change. And by this I am not referring to India, I am referring to Indians. I am not blaming India, I am blaming the citizens of this country. We really need to change the mentality of people, encourage them to clear all their wrong opinions over women. We do not want a female dominating society, we want equality, we want justice. But what’s the solution?

First of all, construct more and more schools and colleges even in rural areas, improve the condition of schools. The main motive of contributing to the better welfare of the girls is to educate them. Second, provide a safe, clean and secure environment to and around them. By this, I mean that police stations should be build and children should be safe. And third -Change the mentality of people. But neither the government can do anything about this nor any organization. This idea comes from your heart only. I can’t force you to change yourself! It’s you who should and can change your thinking. And fourth- impose the harshest of the penalty to the rapists, kidnappers, people who tease women on dowry, eve teasers and they should be hung in front of the victim or the victim’s parents. Seriously, nothing will happen with candle marches and rallies, we want justice. If these points are taken into reality, I believe and bet India would be in the list of ‘TOP COUNTRIES THAT ARE SECURE FOR WOMEN’.

Let’s pray and hope that no Durga be beaten, no Saraswati being stopped going to school, no Parwati be killed for dowry and no girl be suppressed by men. Do share this post to all your friends and coworkers so that even a little step be taken to improve the conditions of the girls of our country. See you in the next one. BYEE! Do like and comment your views. Take care you all…

  1. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this site.

It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s tough to get that “perfect balance” between usability and
visual appeal. I must say you’ve done a superb job with this.
In addition, the blog loads very fast for me on Opera. Superb Blog!
